Player Commitment - Competitive Program

The Impact Soccer Club competitive program is designed to develop our soccer players who wish to compete at the highest level. This development shall take the form of fundamental skills, speed of play, tactical training, fitness, sportsmanship and team participation. Players and parents who plan on making this commitment must be prepared and willing to follow the guidelines and commitment expectations outlined below.

Division 1 and 3
U11 – U19 Player commitment and expectations:  As a member of an Impact competitive soccer team, each player must have a positive attitude and a serious commitment to the team and Club. Teams may travel for tournaments in which overnight stays are required. Players are required to attend all training sessions, games, tournaments and arrive on time ready to play as specified by the coach. Our playing league plays during our school break in October; players are expected to attend training and games during this time.
Typically teams train 3 days per week for an hour and a half. Training is a time for teaching and building a team, players not in attendance slow this process for the whole team. Excused absences from these are family emergency, illness and school. If a player is injured he/she should make every effort to attend training and games in order to have an understanding of the teams concentration. Players must respect and support their team, coaches and trainers always. Players will be expected to play in positions where they are most needed to help the team become successful regardless of preference. Players who continuously cannot fulfill these expectations can be suspended or removed from the team after a meeting with the Director of Coaching, coach, parents and player. These expectations are set forth by the Impact competitive soccer program as a guideline for players and parents to have full knowledge and understanding of the commitment level before they ever come to tryouts.

Parent/Family Commitment
Parents are expected to support the competitive program, the coach, trainer, other parents on the team and most of all the kids in a positive manner at all times. It is never acceptable or tolerated to talk negatively about the referee, the other team, your team, the coach or the program. Parents are expected to assist in fundraising, setup/take down of fields on game day or practice, lining of fields and any other team function or responsibility set forth by the club.

Playing Time
Playing time and starting line-up is determined by the coach and a combination of factors which include:
  • Attendance at all training sessions, scrimmages, games and other team functions
  • Effort at training, scrimmages and games
  • Commitment to training
  • Impact a player has on the game
  • Skill level and ability
  • Discipline on and off the field
  • "Coachability” – players’ ability to follow and accept instruction from coaches for the good of the team, positive and negative.
Players unable to fulfill these requirements will result in limited playing time in games.

Division 1 Only
There is no guaranteed playing time for any player. Please understand the expectations of the Impact competitive program are an effort to raise the standard of play in our community and allow our competitive teams to compete on the same level with some of the best programs in the state. We have taken the first step with our training program but, without a full commitment from each player and family in our program we cannot compete beyond a lower level club.
